Several friends used Dr. Borland and highly recommended him and I was not disappointed. My VSG surgery was very successful. A little discomfort but not painful, no pain medication needed. His staff is extremely helpful as well as the surgical center staff. My nurses were amazing and very attentive. I stayed at the Candlewood Suites and was very pleased. I would highly recommend Dr. Borland.

I had my sleeve done on Dec 10.2012. I got my consultation, and surgery fast afterwards. You get the pre-op test done yourself, and the staff was wonderful and helpful getting the stuff together and info to you . The cost was $9800.00, wow, love that!!!!! You stay at your choice of hotels, he goes and checks on you there, then he says it’s time to go home . He’s got a great bed side manner. My first week lost 16 pounds, went back my 6th week, lost 27 pounds total. YES! (5 stars)

Truly awesome doctor. I went to see him and received a surgery date 2 wks. later. From the time of my 1st visit to my sleeve date the entire process took less than a month. I made sure to get all my pre-op tests done asap. It was a cash pay surgery for $9800. I can’t believe that I have no pain and its only my 3rd post op day. He’s very personal, he gave me his beeper#, home # etc. I beeped him with a question and he called me in less than 10mins. The guy is truly one of the best doctors I’ve ever been to and I’m a nurse, so we don’t always take to doctors well. He also gave me a cd of my surgery. You don’t get all the run around like a lots of these big obesity-type clinics give you. He has a very small staff and they are so sweet and nice especially Marion. My surgery was done outpatient, but we had to stay in the area. We spent the 1st night in the Days Inn we left because it was so stinky in there. We spent the 2nd day at Candlewood suites which was a newer and nice motel however they put us under a woman who had a special needs child who was beating on the floor, walls, moving furn etc. We complained but nothing was done. I was able to go home on 3rd day..today.

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE. Dr. Borland is very knowledgeable about the procedures he performs and is very interested in his patients. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He was patient, kind and very comforting. He has an excellent bedside manner. There’s not a single negative thing I can think of.

Dr Borland is a very accomplished weight loss doctor. He has been doing weight loss surgery for over 30 years. I always felt very comfortable with him from the first time I met him. He answered every question I had. Took his time with me on every visit, pre and post. I would highly recomend him to anyone wanting weight loss surgery. I had my surgery Aug 3, 2010. I am down 84lbs. I look great and feel great. It was the best thing I have ever done and would do it again the same way with the same Dr. 🙂

Meeting Dr Borland and and his staff was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I am now only 6 months post op and have lost 109 lbs. I am on almost no medication for blood pressure or Diabetes anymore. Dr Borland is as compassionate a Dr as I have ever seen with the best of bedside manners you could imagine. If you are thinking about WLS then he is your guy. My wife is going to have the same WLS as me in July hopefully and she loves him to death.

I am 42 years old and had gastric sleeve surgery in 2007. Although I did not have a BMI over 30, I had carried around about 30 extra pounds and could not lose it. The surgery gave me control over my eating and allowed me to drop to a healthy weight and maintain that weight over time. I have been thrilled with the results! Instead of feeling guilty because I was too overweight and unhealthy to keep up with my two young children, I am now an active mom enjoying my new life!

I was Dr. Borland’s first gastric sleeve patient. I felt very confident in his abilities so I was not too nervous going into the surgery. Everything went perfectly. I had zero complications and would recommend him to anyone considering this surgery. In fact, Dr. Borland will be doing a gastric sleeve on my brother in a couple of months.

My first impression of Dr.Borland was very nice and he seemed concerned for my well-being. He came to visit me twice at the home of a family members house I was staying at after the surgery. I thought his office was nice, like any other. At first his staff seemed a little rude, but after talking and asking questions things changed a lot and they were all helpful and nice. Anyone researching to have the sleeve should consider Dr Borland. He does give you lots of information regarding prior and aftercare of the surgery. I would rate him a 10 out of 10!

I have been very impressed with Dr Borland from day one. He has a very good way of communicating which puts you right at ease. He schedules the consultations as the last appointment of the day so that you can spend as much time as you want and ask as many questions as you like. He does the VSG as an outpatient procedure because he feels that like other surgeries that have been moved to outpatient, you reduce the risk of blood clots when you do this. After having my surgery as an outpatient I think it is just how it should be. I had discomfort but no real pain so I don’t think a hospital stay was necessary. He does require that you stay local for 2 nights so that he can check on you. Dr Borland made 3 house calls to me; imagine a Dr today that does house calls! Overall I would rate him very high in both his surgical competence and his bedside manner.

Dr. Borland was very nice and easy to talk to. His staff was also very nice and friendly. The surgery was done outpatient at a surgery center. I live approximately 1.5 hrs away from his office, so he requested that I stay at a hotel to be near overnight. He visited me the afternoon of the surgery at the hotel room. He made my husband and I feel very comfortable. I would recommend him as a surgeon.
